About

"My hope with the outstanding dogs I now own, and all the friends who have helped me in so many ways, is to have a good go at breeding a Dual Champion. I doubt if this is possible but I will give it good go! And if we just have fun along the way, then..... mission accomplished. To breed two FT Champions in one litter is thrilling, but to go the IGL Retriever Championship and have two dogs in the last nine, and Izzy the gallery favourite being run out for 1st - now that lit my candle, it was special"  - Mrs Deniece Stuart

It all began in 1998 when with very young children Mrs Stuart decided to give up a very successful career with Show Ponies and with the family in mind decided to purchase two Labradors. At that time there was no thought of breeding, showing or working them seriously - they were to be family pets and to have some fun with by trying to work them.

With that in mind Deniece contacted John & Sandra Halstead of the famous Drakeshead Kennel so they helped her to find two suitable puppies from other breeders. Hartwood Annie, a black bitch by FT CH Ulstare Style Brocklebank Joy was purchased from Mr & Mrs Erskine and a yellow bitch Sparkling Lady Daisy, by  FT CH Aughacasla Sam Of Drakeshead Rosie Thorn from Mrs S Field.

Two years later Mrs Stuart was persuaded to breed from them. Hartwood Annie  was mated with FT CH Drakeshead Garth and produced 9 puppies. Annie proved to be a true foundation bitch and many of her offspring became outstanding working dogs, a later litter including FTW Reynard Rouge Of Berrybae.

Sparkling Lady Daisy was mated to Shaun Williamson's SH CH Sharouns Trademark and produced a lovely litter - two were purchased by Sharouns and a yellow bitch, Suspicious Minds was kept. She was a very nice bitch, true to type and would work but would also intorduce Mrs Stuart into showing her dogs.

Then in 2004 a yellow dog, Sandylands Guiding Star (SH CH Sandylands Gad About Sandylands Star Shine) was purchased from Erica Jayes. In Deneice's own words "he became the light of my life - a true Labrador, a total clown at times who enjoyed life to the full whether working or showing - just one big laugh" Mrs Stuart was now hooked on showing.

Then in 2006 Mrs Stuart purchased Suttonpark Maggie May (SH CH Suttonpark Manifesto Waterbrook Sweet Music At Suttonpark) from Michael & Judi Neachell and with their help and Maggie May's ring presence she found her a delight to show and qualified her for crufts in 2009. Marion Hopkinson of Rocheby Labradors advised her to mate her to SH CH Silver Suede Over Rocheby and she produced a litter which included Adoraden Maysong At Suttonpark and SH CH Adoraden Hallmark At Suttonpark owned by Mr & Mrs Neachell. Her second litter to Sandylands Guiding Star produced Crufts qualifier in Adoraden Maybea. In 2008 Lindall You Rock (Lindall Court Masterpiece Lindall She Rocks) was purchased from Linda & Allan Porter whose help and advice lead Deniece to write "the queen of my heart - a show machine in every way"  In the following year Antonine Billie Jean (AM CH Ghostone Hyspire Dressed To Impress x Tullochmohr Only For You Antonine) was purchased from Linda McGillivray - she was no show girl but a good producer and in her first litter to Sandylands Guiding Star produced Adoraden Alyssa At Dundalk who along with several noteable wins was Best Puppy in Breed at Leeds Championships Show in 2011.

The working dogs had not been forgotten about and in 2005 Greenbriar (Pocklead Adder x Wampray Kai Of Greenbriar) was purchased from Carloe Clarke. In her first litter to FT CH Greenbriar Rhum she produced FTW Adoraden Oak Of Berrybrae. In 2008 her second litter by FT CH Eastdale Guss is described as "a litter of a lifetime"  producing FT CH Adoraden Quinn, a yellow dog owned by Mr J Swindlehurst, and his yellow litter sister FT CH Adoraden Izzy At Greenbriar owned by Carloe Clarke.
